We developed a feature-rich holiday home portal in the Norwegian language for Mr. Torstein Fosse, enabling registered users to list their homes for sale or rent. Beyond standard portal functionality, the platform included advanced integrations and automation that significantly enhanced efficiency and reduced operational costs.

• Seamless Interhome.com Integration:

  • Built a custom API interface (not RSS-based) to securely pull property records directly from Interhome’s master server into our database.

  • Bookings made on our site were instantly confirmed at Interhome via the integration—ensuring a smooth, real-time experience for users.

• Automated Translation Module:

  • Daily incoming English-language property records were automatically translated into Norwegian (and later also Spanish) before going live.

  • This automation reduced the need for multiple full-time translators, saving the client substantial time and costs.

  • A single proofreader now reviews and fine-tunes the translations, turning a previously labor-intensive task into a streamlined process.

• Dynamic Facebook Application:

  • Created one of the first dynamic Facebook apps to display live property listings directly from the site’s database—no manual updates required.

  • Overcame Facebook’s installation-permission limitations at the time by leveraging an open gateway, allowing users to view listings without downloading or approving an app.

  • This “near-hack” solution ensured property data remained instantly up-to-date on Facebook pages.
